Welcome to Ekran - Toronto Polish Film Festival
Canada is well known for a large array of annual film festivals that are domestic, international, and multicultural. For this reason, we found the lack of a Polish film festival to be strange, especially due to the thriving Polish community in Toronto. How can Poland, a country with such a long-standing tradition in film making, not be represented by its own festival? For this reason, the Ekran Polish Film Association, a non-for-profit organization took up the challenge to create and run the Festival!
Now, in its second year, the 2010 edition highlights the best of new Polish cinema, with over 20 films including a comedies, dramas, thrillers from award-winning directors and actors, as well as spotlighting debut films from exciting new talents. This is your chance to see the latest and greatest Polish movies at your local Revue Cinema!
Escape for an afternoon or evening to Poland and enjoy the complete Polish experience, with an exceptional film coupled with delicious Polish cuisine, such as Polish croquets, sausages or a cup of traditional Polish hot borsch.
