Toronto's Nuit Blanche is an event held yearly on the weekend prior to Canadian Thanksgiving. Only a month after this year's event, the organizers are looking ahead to next year's edition. They have put out a call for submissions, and artists can apply in the categories of Open Call Projects or Independent Projects.
To learn more information, the City of Toronto is providing two information sessions, on November 23 and November 30, from 6-9pm. To attend a session, you can RSVP to info@scotiabanknuitblanche.ca
The deadline for submitting an Open Call Project is Wednesday December 15, 2010, while the Independent Project deadline is Tuesday, February 15, 2011. The 2011 Nuit Blanche takes place on Saturday, October 1, 2011.

The magic of Scotiabank Nuit Blanche will return to light up the city on Saturday, October 1, 2011.
Once again the city will be divided into three zones to accommodate a mixture of Exhibition Projects and Independent Projects. If you have an idea for an art project, there are two different ways you can apply to participate: as an Open Call Project or an Independent Project. Details about both options are listed below.

The City of Toronto will be hosting two identical Scotiabank Nuit Blanche Information sessions at Metro Hall and City Hall. Interested artists and venues are encouraged to attend; this is a great opportunity to learn more, ask questions, share ideas and meet other artists and Nuit Blanche organizers.

Each year the City of Toronto works with a group of curators to create a series of Exhibitions. In addition to the commissioned projects, each Exhibition includes several projects selected by the curators through an open call process.

- Download the event GUIDELINES and APPLICATION document
- Read the Guidelines before completing the Application.
- Complete the Application form. If you're not able to access the form fields, please email ocs@toronto.ca requesting assistance.
- Please note that in order to be considered you must fill out the relevant application form and adhere to all programming criteria and submission requirements.
- Email your application to ocs@toronto.ca. Please label your email subject heading as "NuitBlanche OC 2011" and add your PROJECT OR ARTIST/COMPANY NAME. E.g. Subject: NuitBlanche OC 2011 - from Art Group Name
- You may send email attachments including PDF, jpg, mp3 and tiff files. Please do not send eps or psd files. This mailbox can only accept attachments up to 5MB in total size. Please label all attachments with your name and your project's title.

Independent Projects
Independent Projects
Toronto artists, museums, galleries, cultural and educational institutions, neighbourhoods and BIAs are invited to submit their plans to be an Independent Project. Selected projects are chosen by an autonomous advisory board. All projects must meet Scotiabank Nuit Blanche criteria outlined in the Guidelines for Independent Projects.
Independent Project Submission Deadline: Tuesday, February 15, 2011.
