Pouta (Walking Too Fast) was the big winner for the evening, taking five awards. It claimed Best Film, Director (Radim Špaček), Screenplay (Ondřej Štindl), Actor (Ondřej Malý) and Cinematography (Jaromír Kačer). It had led with 13 nominations, with at least one in every category in which it was eligible including two nominations for Best Supporting Actor. It had previously been named winner of the Critics Prize for Best Film.
Zuzana Bydžovská was named Best Actress for her role in Mamas & Papas. The Best Supporting Actor prize went to Vladimír Dlouhý in Kajínek. Best Supporting Actress was Eliška Balzerová from Ženy v pokušení (Women in Temptation), which also picked up the Audience Award.
Kuky se vrací (Kooky) was the evening's other multiple winner. It received awards for Music, Editing and Sound. It had earlier been named winner for Best Poster.
Katka by Helena Třeštíková was named Best Documentary. The legendary Jan Švankmajer won Best Art Direction for Přežít svůj život (Surviving Life). The award for Outstanding Contribution to Czech Film went to actor and writer Zdenek Sverak who starred in and wrote the screenplay for the 1996 Oscar-winning film Kolja (Kolya).
Občanský průkaz (Identity Card) was the second most-nominated film with eleven mentions but went home empty-handed. Největší z Čechů (The Greatest of the Czechs) had tied with Kuky se vrací (Kooky) at seven nominations and but was also shut out. The six nominations for Habermannův mlýn (Habermann) were likewise unsuccessful.
