Awards-season screenplays available online [UPDATED]

I've posted previously on the screenplays that studios are making available online as part of their awards campaigns. I posted the links for Focus Features' scripts, Bridesmaids, Moneyball and Warrior. Now more have been made available, so it's time to gather them all onto one page as I did on this page last year.

Fox Searchlight has provided the screenplays for The Descendants, Martha Marcy May Marlene, Shame and Win Win. Relativity Media has posted their screenplay for Machine Gun Preacher.

I've posted them all below in alphabetical order. Just click on the title to link to the screenplay. This time around, I'll note the official studio versions with a asterisk (*) to distinguish them from other versions in circulation.

Fox Searchlight is promoting The Tree of Life as well, but as of now their link to the "script" provides a 44-page press kit of the film.

I'll update this page regularly as more screenplays become available.

As usual, I'll try to accurately maintain the writing credits whereby writing teams are indicated with "&" and independent writers are indicated with the word "and."

UPDATE November 30, 2011: I've added the official screenplay for Cars 2, as well as early drafts for Drive, Margin Call and Source Code.

UPDATE December 2, 2011: I've added the official screenplay for The Help plus a pre-Steve Zaillian version of Moneyball.

UPDATE December 6, 2011: The Weinstein company has made four of their screenplays available: the silent film The Artist, Coriolanus, The Iron Lady and My Week with Marilyn. The first is essentially a silent film, which goes to show that great writing is more than just dialogue, whereas the second is based on a Shakespeare play that is all dialogue and yet there too is still a great deal of writing and interpreting required. Also added: a recent (possibly shooting script) version of Moneyball.

UPDATE December 21, 2011: Fox Searchlight has made their script of Margaret available, and Dreamworks has added War Horse.

UPDATE December 23, 2011: New from Sony Picture Classics, we now have the scripts for Carnage, A Dangerous Method, In Darkness, The Guard, Higher Ground, A Separation, The Skin I Live In, and Take Shelter.

UPDATE January 11, 2012: Sony Pictures has released the screenplays for Anonymous, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Ides of March and the official version of Moneyball.

UPDATE February 3, 2012: Roadside Attractions has provided their official Oscar-nominated script for Margin Call.

  5. Hm, it looks like Fox Searchlight has removed their screenplays from their site. I did find it here, though:
