Last week, the Gay and Lesbian Entertainment Critics Association (GALECA) announced the nominees for their 3rd Annual Dorian Awards. Today, they announced the winners.
British director Andrew Haigh's Weekend was the main winner, taking both Film of the Year and LGBT-Themed Film of the Year. The documentary We Were Here by David Weissman and Bill Weber also picked up two awards, claiming Documentary of the Year and LGBT-Themed Documentary of the Year.
The Muppets was named the Campy (Intentional or Not) Film of the Year, while the comedy 50/50 was named the Unsung Film of the Year.
Acting awards went to Meryl Streep, whose turn as Margaret Thatcher was proclaimed the Film Performance of the Year. Michael Fassebender didn't win that category, but picked up the We're Wilde About Your Rising Star Award.
