2012 Richard Attenborough UK Regional Film Awards - winners

Earlier today, the Richard Attenborough UK Regional Film Awards (RAFAs) were held in London in celebration of the best in film from 2011. They gave awards in thirteen categories, six of which were voted for by regional film critics and seven of which were decided by public vote.

Perhaps to no one's surprise, The Artist was named Film of the Year. Director Michel Hazanavicius was awarded Filmmaker of the Year.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy picked up more awards, however. It won for British Film of the Year and also picked up Screenwriter of the Year and British Film Star (Gary Oldman).

Michael Fassbender was named Best Actor for Shame. Best Actress was Meryl Streep in the Margaret Thatcher biopic The Iron Lady.
