2012 Robert-priserne (Robert Awards for Danish film) - winners
The Danmarks Film Akademi (Danish Film Academy) held their 29th Annual Robert Prisen (Robert Awards) at Cirkusbygningen (Circus Building) in Copenhagen.
Lars von Trier's Melancholia swept the awards with a total of ten wins including three going to von Trier himself for Danish Film, Director and Screenplay. It also won Actress and Supporting Actress for Kirsten Dunst and Charlotte Gainsbourg respectively. Its competition for Danish Film had been En Familie (A Family), Dirch (A Funny Man), Superclásico and Rosa Morena.
The other big winner was Dirch (A Funny Man) about Danish actor/improviser Dirch Hartvig Passer. It took six awards including both Actor Awards for Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Lars Ranthe. It also won both music categories.
The American Foreign Language Film Award went to Drive which was directed by Danish filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn. The Non-American Foreign Film Award went to Oscar-winner The King's Speech by Tom Hooper.
An Honourary Award was presented to director/screenwriter/producer Henning Carlsen. The Audience Award was captured by the comedy Alle for en (All for One).
Last year's Robert Awards were dominated by the prison drama R. Susanne Bier's film Hævnen (In a Better World) was the eventual winner of the Foreign Language Film Academy Award, but only won a single Robert Award for Best Actress (Trine Dyrholm).
