Lauréats les Prix Opus 2012 - Opus Music Awards - winners
The 15th gala of the Prix Opus took place recently at the Salle Bourgie of the Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal. The ceremony also celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Conseil québécois de la musique.
28 awards were given out to recognize concert music during the past year.
Concert of the Year winners included Molinari Quartet for their Montreal performance of the late quartets of Shostakovich, and the New Orford Quartet for both the Regional category and Classical, Romantic, Post-Romantic, Impressionistic.
Disc of the Year winners included Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Orchestre Métropolitain's recording of La tragédie de Salomé, and Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal led by Christopher Jackson performing Orlando di Lasso's motet Lagrime di San Pietro.
Recently departed I Musici musical director Yuli Turovsky was honoured with a special Prix Hommage for Lifetime Achievement Award.
