2012 Independent Music Awards (Indies) - winners
The Canadian Association for the Advancement of Music & The Arts (C.A.A.M.A.) held the ceremony for the 12th Annual Independent Music Awards – also known as the Indies – last night at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto.
Saskatoon rockers The Sheepdogs were the night's big winners with four wins, capturing each of its leading total of four nominations. The Sheepdogs wins were for Single of the Year, Group or Duo of the Year, Live Artist/Group or Duo of the Year and Rock Artist/Group or Duo of the Year.
Rich Aucoin had shared the lead with four nominations. His single win was for Emerging Artist of the Year.
The winner for the top category of Album of the year was Fucked Up with David Comes To Life. They picked up an additional prize for Puck/Hardcore Artist/Group or Duo of the Year.
Adele was another double winner. She claimed the International Album of the Year and International Solo Artist of the Year prizes.
Treble Charger was inducted into the SiriusXM Indies Hall of Fame. The band reunited for the occasion after a almost decade apart.
