WAVELENGTHS
Dear filmmakers, friends and colleagues:
The Toronto International Film Festival is currently seeking new work for its Wavelengths programme, now in its 12th year. Named for Michael Snow's seminal 1967 film, Wavelength, the Festival's avant-garde sidebar is a unique forum for international film and video art within the context of one of the world's largest and busiest public film festivals. Held during the opening weekend of the Festival (September 6-16), Wavelengths strives to provide a thoughtfully curated selection of recent international film and video art made for and presented in the cinema.
Building on its past successes, Wavelengths is presently looking for new works (2011-2012), as well as recent restorations of seminal films from the avant-garde. North American premieres will be given precedence but are not required. Programming suggestions and referrals are equally welcome.
There is no official submission process for Wavelengths, no forms to fill out and no entry fee. However, please be sure to include clear contact information and a detailed description of the work.
All previews should be received by May 21, 2012 and sent directly to:
Wavelengths, TIFF
Attention: Andréa Picard

Our presentation formats include 16mm, 35mm, and various video formats, but sadly, no Super 8mm.
Please also contact us in advance if you prefer to send a film print for preview. Other than prints, previews will not be returned to the filmmaker unless they are picked up in person or the return shipping or postage is pre-arranged. If you cannot meet the deadline but have works in progress that you wish to have considered for this year's festival, please do not hesitate to be in touch.
With warm regards,
Andréa Picard
