2012 JUNO Awards for Canadian Music - winners
The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) held their 41st Annual Juno Awards at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa. The event was hosted by the venerable actor William Shatner.
At the top of the awards winners were Feist and the band The Sheepdogs with three awards each. Feist won for Artist of the Year as well as Adult Alternative Album of the Year and Music DVD of the Year. She performed her single “The Bad in Each Other.” The Sheepdogs won for Single of the Year, New Group of the Year and Rock Album of the Year.
Vancouver singer-songwriter Dan Mangan won two awards. He picked up New Artist of the Year and Alternative Album of the Year.
Crooner Michael Bublé picked up the JUNO Award for Album of the Year, while teen heartthrob Justin Bieber won the Fan Choice Award. Unfortunately, neither were able to attend the ceremony.
Sarah McLachlan presented a tribute to Blue Rodeo as they were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, after which she also joined them for a performance of their hit song “Lost Together.”
