2012 MTV Movie Awards – nominees
MTV has announced the full slate of nominations for its 21st Annual MTV Movie Awards.
Both Bridesmaids and The Hunger Games led the field with eight nominations each. Their nods included Movie of the Year, Best Male Performance, Best Female Performance, Breakthrough Performance and Best Cast.
Daniel Radcliffe and the cast for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 followed with six nominations, including Movie of the Year, Male Performance and Female Performance (Emma Watson). Rounding out the Movie of the Year candidates were The Help and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1.
Canadian actor Ryan Gosling scored three nominations all on his own for his performances in Drive and Crazy, Stupid, Love.
New this year, the MTV Movie Awards introduced the new categories of Best Music, Best On-Screen Transformation, Best Gut-Wrenching Performance, Best Cast and Best On-Screen Dirtbag and Breakthrough Performance. Also, nominations were chosen by a panel of actors, producers, agents and industry professionals.
Winners will still be decided by public voting. Fans can vote at http://www.mtv.com/ontv/movieawards/2012/.
The 21st Annual MTV Movie Awards ceremony will take place at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Sunday, June 3.
