CMPA, Bell Fund partner on digital media mentorship program
The Canadian Media Production Association (CMPA) and the Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund are proud to announce their exciting new collaboration in the form of a mentorship program that focuses on providing hands-on training opportunities for digital media producers.
Working with an independent production company, participants of this new initiative will develop their technical, business and creative acumen in the digital content production sector. The program emphasizes one-on-one mentoring provided by seasoned producers, and creating enhanced professional development opportunities in a digital media environment.
“In today’s ‘digital age’ it is becoming more and more important for producers to take advantage of the incredible opportunities presented by new technology and innovations”, said Susanne Vaas, VP of Business Affairs & Recording Secretary, CMPA. “We are very pleased to work with the Bell Fund to help producers develop their digital production skills.”
“It is vital that we foster talent who can understand how to engage audiences and create meaningful experiences on any platform, and this mentorship program will provide this kind of invaluable hands-on training opportunities,” said Andra Sheffer, Executive Director, Bell Fund, IPF, Cogeco Fund.
The deadline for applications is set for July 3, 2012. For more information on the program, application forms and eligibility criteria, please click here.

About the Bell Fund
The Bell Fund provides grants to Canadian independent producers who develop and produce television content complemented and enhanced by excellent digital content designed for various platforms. The Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund receives annual contributions of approximately $14 M from Bell TV and Bell Aliant as part of its broadcast distribution undertaking (BDU) contributions to the industry. In addition, the Development Program is supported by the interest generated by a $10M endowment resulting from BCE-CTV benefits.
