2012 Globi d'Oro (Italian Golden Globe Awards) – nominations
L'Associazione della Stampa Estera in Italia (Italian Foreign Press Association) announced the nominations for Italy's Golden Globe Awards, the Globo d'Oro.
Giuliano Montaldo's L'industriale (The Industrialist) led the field with five nominations including Best Film, Screenplay and Actress (Carolina Crescentini). However, Montaldo was not nominated for Director.
Also nominated for Best Film were Marco Tullio Giordana's Romanzo di una strage (Story of a Massacre) and the Taviani brothers' Cesare deve morire (Caesar Must Die) which has already been declared Film of the Year by the upcoming Nastro d'Argento Awards.
A Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Michele Placido and the Gran Premio della Stampa (Press Grand Prix) will go to Gianni Amelio for Il primo uomo (The First Man).
The ceremony for the will take place on July 3 at Villa Massimo-Accademia Tedesca in Rome. The event will be hosted by Asia Argento.
