After registering, filmmakers will have a month to make a film of sixty seconds running time on a topic that will be revealed on that night. All levels of filmmaking expertise are welcome to participate.
The party will feature performances by Cat Kidd, storytellers from Confabulation, musician Tom Mennier, their popular screen-test booth, and door-prizes from local artists.
The screening of the finished films will take place at the Cinéma Excentris from September 13-15.

The Montreal 60 Second Film Festival (M60) is a not-for-profit film festival, presenting movies that are exactly 60 seconds long. They're films made by amateurs, pros and everybody in between. This year's festival screenings take place September 13, 14 and 15 at the extraordinary Excentris cinema.
But first, we need filmmakers to REGISTER and make their films! Come sign up at our launch party, Thursday, July 19th at Casa Del Popolo, 4873 Boulevard Saint Laurent. Sign-ups open at 8:30 pm (don't be late!)
The party is FREE, registration is FREE, and there are no hidden fees for filmmakers.
This is M60's fifth year, and once again our launch party will be a fabulous shindig. Besides being the one chance for willing directors to sign up as filmmakers, it's where we'll be unveiling this year's secret festival theme. We're also offering a night of exquisite - and theme-appropriate - entertainment: performances by Cat Kidd, bilingual storytellers from Confabulation and pianist Tom Mennier. Plus surprises, screen-tests, and wonderful door-prizes from M60 and local artists. Register for the festival, learn about how it works... then hang out, get down, and enjoy the diverse show we've got planned.
Anyone wishing to make a film for the 2012 festival MUST register in person on July 19, or send an ambassador. There is no entry fee for the launch, or registration fees for the festival, but sign-ups are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sacré bleu, le festival M60 a cinq ans!
Oui, nous sommes de retour en 2012!
Le festival de films de 60 secondes de Montréal (M60) est un festival de films à but non-lucratif mettant à l’affiche des courts-métrages qui durent exactement 60 secondes. Ces films sont réalisés par des amateurs, des pros ou autres. Cette année, les projections du festival auront lieu les 13, 14 et 15 septembre au magnifiique cinéma Excentris.
Mais avant, nous avons besoin que les cinéastes s’inscrivent et réalisent leur film! Venez vous inscrire à notre party de lancement le jeudi 19 juillet à la Casa Del Popolo, située au 4873 boulevard Saint-Laurent. Le bureau d’inscription sera ouvert à compter de 20h30 (ne tardez pas!)
Ce party est GRATUIT, l'inscription est GRATUITE, et il n'y a aucuns frais cachés pour les cinéastes.
L’année 2012 marque la cinquième édition du festival et, comme par le passé, notre party de lancement sera une soirée fabuleuse. En plus d’être l’occasion unique pour les cinéastes décidés de s’inscrire, le party offre en primeur le grand dévoilement du thème secret du festival 2012. Des divertissements seront offerts, y compris une presentation de Cat Kidd, les raconteurs de la Confabulation, et le musicien Tom Mennier. De plus que notre très populaire kiosque pour bouts d’essais.
Venez vous inscrire ou vous informer et par la suite, amusons-nous et profitons des multiples activités que nous avons prévues.
Toute personne intéressée à réaliser un film pour le festival 2012 DOIT s’inscrire en personne le 19 juillet ou déléguer quelqu’un pour le faire. Il n’y a pas de droits d’entrée, ni de frais d’inscription, mais la règle du premier arrivé premier servi s’applique.
