2012 Pomegranate Film Festival, Oct 18-21
Tonight is the lick-off for the 7th annual Pomegranate Film Festival which celebrates Armenian-inspired film. The opening film at Hamazkayin Theatre is the Disney/Pixar film Brave, which was produced by Katherine Sarafian. Sarafian will participate in a Q&A via Skype after the film. This will be followed by Symphony of Sin, a collection of 8 short films.
Other films include Nadine Labaki's TIFF Audience Award-winner Where Do We Go Now? which was produced by Lara Chekerdjian; M. Tayfur Aydın's Trace; Un monstre à Paris (A Monster in Paris) co-written by Stéphane Kazandjian; and Armenian Rhapsody by Cassiana Der Haroutiounian, Cesar and Gary Gananian.
The closing night gala presentation will be Gor Kirakosian's Lost & Found in Armenia. Kirakosian will introduce the film and there will be a Q&A with lead actors Jamie Kennedy & Angela Sarafyan followed by Awards Presentation afterwards.
