Made In India: Montreal Indian Film Festival, Nov 8-11
Tonight at Cinéma du Parc, Made In India: the 3rd edition of the Montreal Indian Film Festival gets underway with a screening of हरिश्चंद्राची फॅक्टरी (Harishchandrachi Factory) by Paresh Mokashi. The film is itself a historical account of "father of Indian cinema" Dadasaheb Phalke and the birth of India's film industry.
Other films screened over the next several days include Vihir (The Well), Stanley Ka Dabba, and the documentary Big in Bollywood – From a Hollywood Zero to a Bollywood Hero. The festival closes with a screening of 3 Idiots by Rajkumar Irani.
All films are screened with English or French subtitles.
