2013 Maple Blues Awards – winners
The gala presentation of the 16th Annual Maple Blues Awards took place last night at Koerner Hall in Toronto. The evening was hosted by Toronto musician Raoul Bhaneja.
MonkeyJunk was the big winner taking three awards. They were named Electric Act of the Year, while band members Steve Marriner and Matt Sobb were named Harmonica Player of the Year and Drummer of the Year respectively.
Suzie Vinnick came away with both Acoustic Act of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year. Steve Strongman also won a pair of awards, for Guitar Player Of The Year and Songwriter Of The Year. Entertainer Of The Year went to Colin James while New Brunswick's Matt Andersen claimed the Male Vocalist of the Year prize.
The Blues With A Feeling Award for Lifetime Achievement was presented to Matt Minglewood.
