2013 SİYAD Ödülleri (Turkish Film Critics Awards) – winners
Turkey's Sinema Yazarları Derneği (Film Critics Association) or SIYAD held a gala ceremony last night at the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall in Istanbul to present the winners of the 45th annual SİYAD Ödülleri (SIYAD Awards).
Emin Alper's debut feature Tepenin Ardı (Beyond the Hill) was crowned Best Film. The psychological drama about the fears of a family on holiday also won Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor (Mehmet Özgür).
Yeraltı (Inside) by Zeki Demirkubuz managed a bigger haul though, with a total of five wins. In addition to Best Director, the adaptation of Dostoevsky's novel Notes from Underground won Best Actor (Engin Günaydın), Best Supporting Actress (Nihal Yalçın), Best Cinematographer and Best Editor.
Neslihan Atagül won Best Actress for Jade Ustaoğlu's Araf (Somewhere in Between), which also won for Art Direction.
The winner for Best Foreign Film was Michael Haneke's Amour.
