Lauréat les Prix Opus 2013 – winners
The 16th edition of the Prix Opus (Opus Awards) recognized 27 artists for their excellence as interpreter, composer, distributor or musicologist. More than 26 000$ has been distributed.
Created by the Conseil québécois de la Musique, the Opus Gala underlines the excellence of concert music in Québec in its various repertories. Québec has many talented musicians and it is proved again by the quality of the 2011-2012 winners. The Gala not only aims to pay homage to Québec musicians, but also to increase public awareness and interest in concert music.
The top prize-winner was Quebec Opera's production of The Tempest co-produced with The Metropolitan Opera and Wiener Staatsoper. It won Concert of the Year – Quebec City and Musical Event of the Year. Quebec Opera's Grégoire Legendre was named Artistic Director of the Year.
