2013 WGC Screenwriting Awards – nominations
The Writers' Guild of Canada has announced the nominees for the 2013 WGC Screenwriting Awards.
This year, more than 145 scripts were nominated for awards. First-round judging put forward 29 finalist scripts across the Awards’ seven categories. In all, 37 screenwriters are up for awards.
The nominees for Best Movie or Miniseries were the scripts for The Phantoms by Andrew Wreggitt, Picture Day by Kate Melville, The Samaritan by Elan Mastai & David Weaver, and Still by Michael McGowan.
The television nominations were topped by Less Than Kind which received three mentions. My Babysitter’s a Vampire and Heartland each picked up a pair of noms.
The 2013 WGC Screenwriting Awards ceremony takes place on Monday, April 22nd at Uniun Nightclub at 473 Adelaide Street West in Toronto. Comedian and actor Ryan Belleville will be the evening's host, and the show will be written by Belleville and Bob Kerr.
