Toronto Silent Film Festival 2013, Apr 4-9
Tonight, the 4th Toronto Silent Film Festival kicks off with a screening of Carl Dreyer's La Passion de Jeanne d'Arc (The Passion of Joan of Arc). The classic 1928 drama starring Renée Falconetti was ranked 9th in this year's Signt & Sound poll.
The festival will close next week on the 9th with a two Buster Keaton favourites. It will begin with the short NFB film The Railrodder, before the feature-length presentation The General.
Musicians accompanying the screenings will include Fern Lindzon; Joëlle Morton – Artistic Director of Scaramella; Tom Peters; Laura Silberberg; the Viola Dana Quartet; and clark Wilson.
