ACTRA Awards in Toronto 2014 – winners
The 12th annual ACTRA Awards in Toronto were presented tonight at The Carlu. The gala evening was hosted by Darrell Dennis with live music by Saidah Baba Talibah. The ACTRA Awards in Toronto recognize outstanding performances by ACTRA Toronto members.
"Each year our awards get bigger and better," said David Sparrow, ACTRA Toronto President. "What a great group of outstanding nominees and winners. My hat's off to all of them. Terry McGurrin - a classic cartoon voice, Amanda Brugel a fantastic comedic actor, and Rick Roberts, well, at the rate he's going, I'm expecting him to morph into R.H. Thomson at any moment. And the spectacular stunts of Marco Bianco...I'm so proud of each and every one of them."
ACTRA Toronto is the largest organization within ACTRA, representing more than 15,000 of Canada's 22,000 professional performers working in the English-language recorded media in Canada. As an advocate for Canadian culture since 1943, ACTRA is a member-driven union that continues to secure rights and respect for the work of professional performers.
