Call for submissions: Festival du nouveau cinéma 2014
Montreal's Festival du nouveau cinéma has announced a call for submissions for its 43rd edition of the festival. They are looking for films, interactive works and performances.
The Festival du nouveau cinéma is committed to the exploration and development of new practices in cinema and new media. It is a premiere showcase for original and brand-new works, particularly in the fields of independent cinema and digital creation.
Only works produced after January 1st, 2013 and not previously shown in Montréal, Québec are eligible. All selected entries must be in their original language and subtitled in French (preferably) or in English.
The Early bird deadline is April 30, 2014. The second deadline is May 31, 2014. The final deadline is June 15, 2014.
Its 43rd edition of Festival du nouveau cinéma will run from October 8 to 19, 2014 in downtown Montréal.

TO SUBMIT AN INTERACTIVE WORK
As part of the FNC Lab section and its interactive works competition, the Festival is looking for works that experiment with new audiovisual formats and the most innovative technological tools to tell a story, express a concept and contribute, more actively than ever, to the cinema of tomorrow.
The most daring and original Web, transmedia and multiplatform projects will be chosen for presentation to the public and will be eligible for the Innovation Award ($1,000 in cash), handed out every year.
To submit an interactive work, please send the following documentation to innovation@nouveaucinema.ca:

-name of the author (optional: short biography)
-year of production
-short description of the work
-hyperlink, video or visual
TO SUBMIT A PERFORMANCE
The Festival du nouveau cinema, in its FNC Lab section, offers a series of performances bridging different disciplines and forms of expression, a rare chance for artists to commune with a wide range of audiences. Focused on the “live” aspect of audiovisual and cinematic works, the performances form a heterogeneous collection of practices focused on the presence, performative aspect and perceptual experience of sounds and images.
