The Canadian Music Café at TIFF 2014
Among the many events taking place during TIFF involving music as well as film is the 6th Annual Canadian Music Café taking place September 8 and 9 at the Jazz Bistro. It features musical acts from across Canada and presents an opportunity for film industry professionals such as music supervisors, directors, producers and filmmakers to hear some up-and-coming musical talent.
The Canadian Music Café is a joint initiative produced by the Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA) and the Canadian Music Publishers Association (CMPA), whose mandates are to support, exploit and advocate for the Canadian independent music community and Canadian publishers, respectively. The CMPA and CIMA gratefully acknowledge that the 2014 Canadian Music Café is made possible with the support of the Ontario Media Development Corporation.

Diverse Canadian music talent perform during TIFF® for filmed media executives
The Canadian Music Café is excited to announce the lineup of talented Canadian musicians participating at this year’s two day event during the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF®) from September 8-9, 2014 at The Jazz Bistro (251 Victoria St) in downtown Toronto. The Canadian Music Café is a hub for rising Canadian talent, open to industry professionals to facilitate song placements in TV, film and other entertainment mediums.
With alumni such as City & Colour, Martha Wainwright, Chantal Kreviazuk, USS, Buck 65, Arkells and many more, the sixth annual Canadian Music Cafe once again brings fresh Canadian talent to the attention of filmed media professionals. Café alumni songs have been discovered at previous showcases and placed in dozens of Canadian, American and international film and TV productions and commercials. This year the Café has invited 10 top notch music supervisors from LA and New York to join filmed media professionals at the event.
"The CMPA and CIMA are thrilled to be hosting the Canadian Music Café which will take place, again, during this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. We believe we've put together one of our strongest lineups to date and we are excited to have the filmed media industry experience this diverse Canadian talent," explains Jodie Ferneyhough, President, CMPA.
